I was born in Bavaria but now live in the beautiful Danube Valley, just north of Lake Constance. It’s the perfect place – peaceful enough for writing, yet lively enough to stay inspired.
By pure chance – and I can’t call it anything else – I became the editor of a small magazine called “Neues aus Anderwelt” (News from the Otherworld). From 2000 to 2013, we published three issues a year. Every now and then, I wrote an article myself. One of those articles caught the attention of Eulen Verlag, who encouraged me in 2003 to write a book about magical beings from the Otherworld – elves, dwarves, goblins, and more. That’s how it all began.
As a longtime lover of mysteries – especially the classic British detective stories – I soon had the idea of combining fantasy with the crime genre. Enter Erkül Bwaroo onto the page.
The Erkül Bwaroo mysteries are written for readers who enjoy traditional whodunits, with a touch of fairy-tale magic, witty characters, plenty of humour, and clever twists to keep the little grey cells in trim.
